Biography

As assistant vice president for Community Relations, Beverly Coleman manages the Office of Community Relations, which serves as a gateway to the many resources the university has to offer our neighbors. Her work enhances the university’s contributions to the civic and economic success of the community.

Coleman has spent more than two decades working to reinvigorate Philadelphia neighborhoods. She formerly served as director of Urban Ventures Group and executive director of Neighborhoods Now. She has worked for the Pew Charitable Trusts and community development corporations. Additionally, she serves on the boards of SEPTA and Habitat Philadelphia and the advisory committees for Philadelphia LISC and the North Central Empowerment Zone.

Coleman attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned both a Master of Arts degree in Government Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies.
