Opportunities for Philadelphia Students

Learning experiences through scientific inquiry and discovery.

The George Washington Carver Science Fair is an annual fair that provides opportunities for Philadelphia school students to gain enriched learning experiences through scientific inquiry and discovery. The fair is held every Spring and is open to all students in grades four through twelve who attend Philadelphia County public, charter, parochial and private schools, as well as to home-schooled students residing in the county.

 

The fair is sponsored jointly by Temple University's College of Science & Technology and the Office of Community Affairs & Engagement.

 

Students participating in the fair will compete in person at Temple University.  

 

2025 George Washington Carver Science Fair (GWCSF) Dates

 

Elementary Exhibition Science Fair and Awards Ceremony (Grades 4&5)

Date: Friday, April 4, 2025  |  Time: 9:00am to 2:00pm

Location: Temple University’s Howard Gittis Student Center

1755 N. 13th Street, Second Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19121

 ***The entrance is on 13th Street, between Cecil B. Moore Avenue & Montgomery Avenue ***

 

Secondary Competitive Science Fair (Grades 6 through 12)

Date: Thursday, March 6, 2025  |  Time: 9:00am to 3:30pm

Location: Temple University’s Aramark STAR Complex

1816 N. 15th St, Philadelphia, PA 19121

 ***The entrance is at the corner of 15th Street& Montgomery Avenue ***

 

Seconday Awards Ceremony (by invitation only)

Date: TBA  |  Location: Temple University’s Main Campus

 

To participate in the fair, you must register and submit all documentation through STEM Wizard.  If you participated in last year’s fair and already created a STEM Wizard account, you will use the same account this year and will not have to make a new account.
